The University of Minho is the number one higher education institution in Portugal in terms of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. According to the first edition of “The Impact Rankings”, launched by the Times Higher Education, UMinho ranks 83rd worldwide. This result demonstrates UMinho’s commitment to meeting those UN Goals, not only through teaching, research and knowledge transfer, but also incorporating them into its internal practices, policies and procedures, with verifiable evidence of its activities.
UMinho was also the first university in the country to start public reporting on sustainability indicators (in 2010) and to integrate the International Sustainable Campus Network.
UMinho’s Social Services were recently recognized for their environmental management system with certificates ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 22000:2005.
